My name is Caleb Smith. I’m a freelance audio producer and engineer based in Brooklyn, NY.
I’m currently available for all audio work.
Podcasts and Spoken Word.
Here are some of the podcasts and projects I work on and have worked on. I am the sole editor, producer and mixer of Emotional Labor. “An explicitly - but not narrowly - political podcast hosted by Haylin Belay and Al Shiflett.”
I also co-produced and aided with various roles on the podcast Things You Pretend to Know About, hosted by Rae Gonzalez. Apart from just audio work on this podcast I also helped with video editing for promotional material when needed.
I am also fully equipped for tape syncs. Here is an example where I recorded the Thom Browne interview for the MR PORTER podcast series called The Details.
The spoken word poem is by poet and Google writer, Lauren Ducrey. For this project I assisted from start to finish, working with both the director and performer to create a clean and polished finished product. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in my home studio.
My Music.
I compose music as a hobby on the side. Here are a few examples of the music I make.
I also sing and write music on the guitar but haven’t recorded any yet. Soon to come.
